In the weekend, put down your work and walk from
the southern tip of the land to Mt. Baekdu in the North

As the employees have done much for the company, we should give back to them as well.

B2B electronic commercial transaction company iMarketKorea (CEO Man-Young Hyun) has set a target for all 240 employees to complete a walk across the nation.

It started with climbing Mt. Duryun in Ddangggeut village in Haenam, Jeollanam-do for 2 days back in February. Last week, employees walked 20km from Damyang to Jeongeup and climbed Mt. Juknim and Mt. Naejang . In the coming August, they plan to complete the 670km course to Mt. Baekdu .

This is a good course for making seasonal memories. There will be the Sakura Flower Festival in April and they will climb Mt. Weorak in June.

The employees of iMarketKorea will walk or climb 30km or more each day in their respective groups, while the last course from Seoul to the Unification Watch Tower in Imjingak will involve all employees, completing a great endeavor which will have lasted over 6 months.

For this purpose the company has made a gift of a pair of sneakers to all employees since the beginning of the year. This event is strictly voluntary ? the company has asked for 40 volunteers every month according to workers' schedules. In fact, there have been more volunteers than expected.

iMarketKorea carried out climbing projects, from Mt. Halla to Mt. Baekdu last year with employee approval. Mr. Yoon-Kwon Kim of HR, who has been carrying out the event for 2 years, has said that all the employees helped each other to reach the peak, enjoying the great satisfaction of building lasting relationships as well as refreshing themselves in nature.

CEO Hyun said that during the national cross-country walk and the climbing of Mt. Baekdu , the employees will build their desire for the company to become a global leader in international e-commerce, and not content themselves with simply being No 1 in Korea . Hyun has also prepared incentives for those employees who are trying their best. Points scored through this event, from personal goals and educational course completions will be summed up and used as basis for selecting the participants for the Mt. Baekdu event. The company is expecting improvements in cooperation and unity among employees, as well as increasing efficiency.
